Job Details:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Structural Steel Detailer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of structural steel components for various construction projects. This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in structural steel detailing and is proficient in using advanced software to create accurate and detailed models and drawings.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of structural steel components, including connections, beams, columns, and braces, using advanced CAD software.

2. Review and interpret architectural and structural design drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.

3. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabricators to resolve any discrepancies and to ensure that all design specifications and standards are met.

4. Perform quality control checks on drawings and models to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications and industry standards.

5. Update and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.

6. Provide technical support and guidance to junior detailers and other team members.

7. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in structural steel detailing and CAD technology.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel detailing, preferably in the construction industry.

2. Proficiency in advanced CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or equivalent.

3. In-depth knowledge of structural steel detailing standards and practices.

4. Strong technical skills, including the ability to interpret architectural and structural design drawings and to create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings.

5. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to detect and resolve discrepancies in drawings and models.

6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project managers, engineers, and fabricators.

7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

8. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

9. Certification from the National Institute of Steel Detailing (NISD) or equivalent would be an added advantage.
