This role is for a Vice President, Regulatory Affairs on the US Government Affairs & Public Policy team. Key Responsibilities: Review key legislative and regulatory proposals and provide technical recommendations leveraging legal expertise. Support efforts to monitor and advocate on relevant U.S. public policy issues. Author and review comment letters, consultation responses, white papers. Support production of comment letters and public policy position papers, including drafting and editing content, tracking deadlines, and ensuring proper submission. Develop and maintain relationships with key policymakers, industry peers, trade associations, and other stakeholders. Lead engagement with and presentations to policy makers, regulators, trade associations, and clients on key issues, representing BlackRock's views. Research issues of critical importance to the industry and take initiative to identify/implement engagement and response strategies with legislators and regulators. Build and maintain networks of contacts both within BlackRock and externally with relevant stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and J.D. from a nationally-recognized law school. 5-7+ years of experience at a financial services company or at a law firm preferred. Expertise on the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities and Exchange Act of 1934, Securities Act of 1933, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2010, Bank Holding Company Act, Federal Reserve Act and/or other major laws that govern the securities and financial services industry. Strong PowerPoint skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong writing and research skills; strategic and creative thinking aptitude. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing deliverables and tight deadlines. Ability to clearly articulate ideas to internal and external audiences across all levels of senior management is imperative. Good judgment and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, entrepreneurial environment. Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail. Salary Information: For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00. For Washington, DC Only the salary range for this position is USD$127,500.00 - USD$184,000.00. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
