Job Description
My client is a law firm looking for a Staff Accountant to fill the role for their organization, in their Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate for the Staff Accountant role would be responsible for maintaining the general ledger accounts, reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable, assisting with billings and the month end close process, posting journal entries and assisting with other ad hoc projects. This person will be working closely with the accounting manager. The organization offers excellent benefits; including medical benefits and great work-life balance.
Daily responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include:
· Perform month-end close.
· General ledger maintenance.
· Assist with billings compliance.
· Reconcile AP and AR accounts.
· Prepare financial statements.
· Research and maintaining compliance US GAAP.
The ideal Staff Accountant we seek must have the following qualifications for consideration:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
· Law firm or professional service experience, preferred.
· 2-3+ years of accounting experience.
· Understanding of US GAAP.
