This individual will play a key role in designing and developing Salesforce solutions for a nonprofit client. As part of a collaborative technical consulting team, this role requires deep Salesforce platform knowledge, strong coding expertise, and a consultative mindset. The ideal candidate will be passionate about scalable architecture, clean code, and helping clients achieve real-world impact through innovative Salesforce solutions. Position Type: Part-time, Contract (20 hours/week) Responsibilities Responsible for Apex code testing, review, and documentation. Collaborate with other members of the project team on custom software/integration design and system testing. Meet with clients to determine business, functional, and technical requirements and participate in application design, configuration, testing and deployment. Willing to be hands-on in producing tangible deliverables (requirements specifications, design deliverables, mapping documents, status, project plans). Provide technical documentation and support training efforts as needed. Develop test classes and automation scripts to ensure high test coverage and regression reliability. Required Skills Strong understanding of Apex code to be able to do code review and test providing recommendations for improvements or identify gaps. 3+ years of experience in Salesforce development, preferably with enterprise or large-scale implementations. Proficient in Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce APIs (REST/SOAP). Experience with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS in the context of Salesforce development. Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and ETL concepts. Experience with Salesforce DX, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum. Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Desired Skills Experience in nonprofit domains. Software engineering skills with Java SE & EE (Java, JSF, SQL) preferred. Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with clients. The hourly rate for this contract-based position ranges from $85 to $110 per hour, depending on a candidate's experience, education, skills, and geographic location.
