We are currently seeking an associate level scientist to become part of an existing, experienced team of scientists based in Wilmington, DE supporting host construction, improvement, and product development projects. Candidates must have proven experience and a strong foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry and/or microbiology. This will be a predominantly lab-based role with a focus on constructing microbial cell factories and understanding and optimizing their performance in the relevant industrial applications.

Responsibilities: - Contribute to project-related workstreams to understand performance of our cell factories and their products in the relevant industrial applications.
- Contribute to strain construction workstreams using modern molecular and cell biology.
- Support optimization, analysis and improvement of cell factories based on project direction and data.
- Carry out work that requires collaboration with others as part of a project team to deliver on project goals.
- Carry out project work as directed by project leader.
- Explore and implement new methods and technologies with project team.
- Generate and effectively communicate data.
- Prepare technical reports, data summaries, presentations, protocols, and other technical and regulatory documents.
- Understanding of basic scientific principles of molecular biology, biochemistry and microbial physiology.
Qualifications: - Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-functional team to deliver on specific project goals.
- Hands-on-mentality and a strong affinity for lab work.
- Willing to learn new skills and techniques.
- Able to adapt to changes, drive multiple workstreams in parallel, and thrive in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Proven ability to work and collaborate with others to solve problems.

- Demonstrated team player and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Able to deliver consistent high-quality experimental data from molecular biology and analytical experiments.
- Ability to be effective in a growing, dynamic, and changing business environment.
Preferred Experience: - B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry.
- 1-3 years of research experience in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry.
