Overview The Ye Lab, led by Principal Investigator Qi Ye, Ph.D., at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute Cancer Research Center in Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Research Assistant. Our research focuses on the interface of glial biology and brain cancer, with an emphasis on malignant glioma. We investigate how glioma cells interact with the tumor microenvironment to drive malignant progression using genetically engineered mouse and human glioma models. Responsibilities Manage transgenic mouse lines, including tail tagging, genotyping (standard PCR), and maintaining detailed mouse inventory records. Perform mouse harvesting and tissue processing. Conduct DNA preparation (mini- and maxi-preps). Support general lab operations, including ordering supplies, record-keeping, and instrument maintenance. Required Qualifications Experience in a professional or higher education research setting. Strong communication and organizational skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Coursework or training in Biology, Neuroscience, Chemistry, or a related scientific field, with an emphasis on wet lab experience. Hands-on experience with rodent handling in a research lab setting. Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques. Experience with lab project management is a plus.
