Summer Medical Records Scanner Inter Opportunity – Gain Valuable Experience! - Local High School Students ONLY!

Are you a junior or senior in high school? Looking for a great summer opportunity to gain experience in healthcare? Steele Memorial Medical Center is seeking a Medical Records Inter. Join our team for the summer as a paid Intern!

Will perform accurate scanning of patient records into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations
Scan and digitize medical records and documents into the electronic health records (HER) system.
Ensure that all scanned documents are legible, complete and accurately indexed.
Maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform quality checks on scanned documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with HIM staff to address any discrepancies or issues with medical records.
Answer telephone and take requests for medical records or information.
Deliver patient medical records to qualified personnel and departments upon request.

Qualifications

Current High School Junior or Senior
Previous experience in medical records role is preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required

The Medical Records Scanner-Intern position is a paid temporary position for up to 90 days
