Join to apply for the Lifeguard role at Jonathan Club Overview Keep a professional commanding presence through rushes of recreational swimmers and long lulls. Responsibilities Maintain a courteous and clear line of communication with members and team. Ensure the pool facility and recreational swimmers remain safe. Help members understand rules prior to entering the water. Respond to emergencies according to Red Cross Lifeguard training. Check that members are booked, swimming in the correct lane, wearing proper swim attire, and rinsed of debris before entering. Execute end‑of‑shift duties such as cleaning tile, squeegeeing the deck, vacuuming the pool, and brushing plaster walls. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Possess a current Red Cross lifeguard certification. Strong communication skills. Capable of working in a loud indoor environment that fluctuates from slow to busy. Ability to respond to emergencies quickly, calmly, and effectively. Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to assist when needed. Self‑starter with solution‑driven mindset. Available for weekend shifts, in‑service trainings, and holidays through Memorial Day; additional weekday availability after Memorial Day up to Labor Day.
