Job Description

Summary: A person in this position will assist with all tasks associated with laser engraving and plate making. These tasks include machine setup, loading and unloading mandrels, sleeves and plates onto machines and operating all equipment. This person will also perform tasks associated with receiving of materials – including pickup by company van and maintaining the inventory with our online management system. This person will also perform all tasks associated with document preparation and delivery of finished sleeves and plates to our local shippers or directly to our customers. This will require flexibility with scheduled work hours due to schedule demands requiring pickups and/or deliveries. The normal work schedule is 9:00am – 5:30pm work schedule with 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week worked. Our operation is currently Monday – Friday but does require some weekend work. Ultimately, this individual would work towards a fully unsupervised operator position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists laser engraving operators with setup and operating equipment.
2. Assists operators in loading and unloading of mandrels, sleeves and plates onto engraving equipment
3. Processes photopolymer plates utilizing all associated equipment
4. Performs final inspection and cleaning of sleeves and plates prior to preparing for shipment or delivery
5. Drives company vehicle to pick up and deliver goods to both suppliers and customers
6. Prepares finished goods for shipment or delivery and prepares necessary documents and data entry
7. Receives shipments of sleeves and plates and places into inventory
8. Performs monthly inventory of sleeves and plates
9. Stages sleeves and plates according to production schedule
10. Operates lift, sleeve washer and hoist and other office equipment in performance of duties
11. Pursues continuous development of technical skills, knowledge of our business and customers
12. Presents a professional image by appearance and communication with our suppliers and customers
13. Responds to critical support issues during off hours as necessary
14. Performs equipment and shop maintenance as well as related duties as assigned.

• Must be a team player and maintain a positive attitude.

Education and Experience:

• Graduated from High School
• Experience in similar role preferred
• Excellent driving record
• Printing/Pre-press experience a plus
• Flexible with work schedule during the week
