Hospital Phlebotomist Mobile Infirmary - 2nd Shift at Labcorp summary:

The Hospital Phlebotomist at Mobile Infirmary Hospital performs skilled blood specimen collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques across all age groups. They manage specimen preparation, data entry, billing, equipment maintenance, and provide excellent customer service in a hospital lab setting. This role requires phlebotomy certification, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team with flexible scheduling.

We are currently seeking a Phlebotomist to work in a hospital setting at Mobile Infirmary Hospital. In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 2pm-10:30pm, with rotating weekends

Work Location: Infirmary Hospital - 5 Infirmary Cir. Mobile, AL

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist is required
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
