Position Overview: This position is responsible for diagnosing and performing all repairs on customer owned equipment in the field.This will include diagnose, repair, overhauls, cleaning, inspecting and assembling parts.Must be skilled with mechanical and electrical tasks and own a complete set of hand tools.Requires ability to work with minimal supervision, interact with customers, and complete paperwork accurately and timely.Valid driver's license and clear driving record is a must.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :

- Diagnose and perform major and minor repairs to engines, involving inspection, troubleshoots, diagnoses, repairs, on generator and engine failures..
- Ability to load bank and load testing of generators
- Troubleshoot AC & DC controls and electrical equipment.
- Prepares and maintains records and reports of completed work.
- Reads and interprets diagnostic trouble codes, manuals and specifications.
- Repairs and overhauls product.
- Load test batteries and ability to checking charging systems.
- Performs maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment.
- Responsible for timely and accurate service documentation.
- Ability to accurately order needed parts from vendors, and travel to customer sites.
- Some shift work may be required.
- Must have good organizational skills, aptitude for numbers, and experience coordinating and processing paperwork.
- Must have experience dealing with customers in difficult situations, good phone etiquette, and the ability to function in fast-paced environment.
- Must maintain excellent relationships with customers, both internal and external.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills: - Must have an equivalent of no less than four (4) years' experience with technical repairs.
- Strong technical/mechanical skills and experience required; Detroit Diesel, Generator such as Kohler, MTU Onsite Energy and MTU product knowledge helpful.
- Must be able to read, write, have good communication skills and understand service instructions.
Education & Experience: - High school diploma and/or equivalent combination of education or experience.
- Minimum of four (4) years' experience with technical repairs on diesel engines.
- Experience in Power Generator Service and Engine repairs
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate with customers and must be able to exchange accurate information. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 70 pounds. Must be able to detect parts and machinery from a distance and up close.

- We are drug free workplace that conducts pre-employment physical and drug screenings. We are regulated by the department of transportation and will be conducting random drug testing at regular intervals.
Tool Requirements: - This job requires the employee to supply a complete set of hand tools.
Travel: Travel is primary local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected.
