Job Summary:
The Construction Site HSE Specialist is responsible for implementing and overseeing health, safety, and environmental protocols on E&C project sites. This role ensures compliance with internal procedures and client HSE requirements through site monitoring, training, inspections, and audits. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction safety experience, is OSHA certified, and is passionate about driving a safety-first culture across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and continuously improve project safety procedures in alignment with E&C standards and specific site activities (construction, erection, commissioning).
- Issue and manage work permits; monitor the site to ensure a safe working environment.
- Respond to emergencies by executing established safety incident protocols.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client site personnel records.
- Deliver construction and site-specific safety training to E&C employees.
- Review and implement client-specific HSE requirements within the project safety framework.
- Assist contractors in aligning with HSE systems and standards.
- Identify potential site hazards and support the development of HSE documentation for new projects.
- Lead or support investigations of safety incidents and maintain accurate records of findings and corrective actions.
- Promote and support on-site safety campaigns and initiatives.
- Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections to verify compliance with safety practices and procedures.
- Update and enhance E&C standards and Site HSE Management Systems based on audit findings and incident learnings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education in HSE or a related field.
- OSHA 30 (or higher) certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of practical HSE experience in construction environments.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Certified to conduct various safety training programs (e.g., general site safety, work at height, confined space, scaffolding, road safety, electrical safety, LOTO, etc.).
- Strong technical knowledge of construction safety and chemical/gas-related risks.
- Familiarity with engineering and construction project environments and associated hazards.
- Experience with project execution, including construction sites and/or manufacturing operations.
