Job Description The DMV Clerk performs a wide range of administrative and office support duties associated with vehicle documentation. This position’s responsibilities include but are not limited to: Handles the legal transfer of documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles Submits all (electronic filing) legal transfer work to the DMV Verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lien holder paid off before processing title applications Checks for accuracy in the application Ensures that all information is complete Processes all wholesale DMV work Reports on the status of any missing or problem titles, providing list of outstanding titles as needed The ideal candidate has two (2) years of experience in a similar position. He or she can work in a fast-paced and challenging environment handling multiple projects and must have excellent communication, administrative, organizational, and computer skills. He or she must be detail-oriented and good with numbers and proficient with accounting software and with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Responsibilities Transmits DMV items in an organized, efficient, timely manner Prints, analyzes, and distributes reports as requested by management Prepares and processes new and used car DMV information including out of state registrations Processes duplicate title requests and loaner renewals Troubleshoots and resolves specific problem titles, odometer discrepancies, power of attorney issues, etc. Processes trade payoffs and follows up on title status with lienholders Works with sales and finance to ensure required documentation Maintains dealer plate log, sales license log, DMV on hand plate inventory and one trip inventory Performs other duties as assigned Provides administrative assistance as needed Job Requirement: High school diploma or GED preferred Dealership and Reynolds and Reynolds experience preferred Organizational and time management skills Helpful attitude and friendly demeanor Able to deal with confidential information Professional and dependable Computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite Compensation Competitive Pay Based on Experience Medical Benefits Paid Vacation Holidays Professional Workplace Non-Smoking Workplace Drug Free Workplace Opportunity for Advancement Direct Deposit 401(k) with Company Match The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by people assigned to this position.
