CUSTODIAN
The Town of Mashpee Department of Public Works welcomes applications for a full time 2nd Shift Custodian; $24.14/hr – $25.09/hr commensurate with qualifications and experience (plus $1.75/hour shift differential pay for second shifts actually worked). This position works 40 hours/week from 3:00pm – 11:30pm or 3:15pm-11:45pm, Monday through Friday. Assignments will alternate between Town and School buildings as needed. (When assigned to a School building during school vacation periods, including summer vacation, the work schedule changes to 8:00am – 4:30pm and excludes the shift differential pay.) Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent with demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities; at least one year of experience in custodial work is required; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Frequently lifts and/or moves furniture and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Must possess a valid MA driver’s license (Class D). Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation. Responsibilities: Performs semi-skilled manual work involving responsibility for the care and maintenance of a public building or buildings and related equipment to ensure that facilities are safe, sanitary and welcoming for both the public and Town employees. Operates custodial/maintenance equipment. Cleans, disinfects and restocks washrooms, collects and disposes of trash and recycling, maintains equipment and performs minor repairs as required. Assists with snow and ice operations. Considered essential personnel for emergency operations; is subject to call to respond to emergencies after normal working hours.
