Job Description

The Category Analyst will be responsible for collecting data from various sources (such as IRI, Nielsen, consumer data, wholesale shipment data, etc.) to identify opportunities for Red Bull in terms of volume, market share, promotions, pricing, and shelf space. The primary focus of the Category Analyst will be to convert data into actionable insights to inform strategy and drive volume growth within their assigned region.

This role is also eligible to sit in the following locations: Atlanta, GA

  • Provide category management insights to top customers by leading discussions focused on identifying and leveraging category growth opportunities.

    Develop, create, and present regular category reviews, strategies, and plans in collaboration with retail partners.

    Translate insights into actionable steps for retailers by implementing, analyzing, and evaluating category plans.

    Strategically design customer category management business plans that align with the overall goals of the customers' businesses.

  • Identify performance gaps in areas such as volume, market share, pricing, promotions, shelf space, and product distribution.

    Execute solutions, track progress, measure outcomes, and communicate results effectively.

    Analyze consumer and shopper data to generate insights and uncover opportunities.

    Conduct post-program analysis to evaluate results.

    Manage and maintain databases, reports, and applications.

    Provide analytical support and actionable insights to assist in the development of Category Initiatives.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Business Unit (BU) Sales Leaders and Retail Partners to develop strategic plans for category management within the BU or customer team.

    Utilize a variety of category management tools to drive productivity improvements for the BU through specialized projects.

    Provide support to BU sales teams by addressing ad-hoc data requests, answering inquiries, and delivering basic technical support and analytics.

    Coordinate internal communications and efforts within the BU to ensure that all informational and analytical needs are effectively met.

    Respond to team requirements promptly and efficiently, demonstrating a sense of urgency, persistence, and a commitment to quality and excellent customer service.

    Assist account teams in using system applications, accessing and applying data, and fulfilling information requests.

    Foster and leverage relationships with Headquarter Category teams to exchange best practices and share resources effectively.

  • Establish best practices for reporting and take responsibility for updating reports on a weekly and monthly basis.

    Create reports utilizing syndicated and internal sales data to support Red Bull's category development strategy.

EXPERIENCE

that matter most for this role:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer goods industry, including trade classifications, customer groups, categories, competitive products and strategies, as well as industry trends.
  • Proficiency in using syndicated data sources such as IRI, Nielsen, etc.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles.
  • A proven track record of creating fact-based sales presentations, with the ability to utilize diverse tools to address and solve problems.
  • Strong skills in interpreting analytical results, formulating actionable recommendations, developing presentations, and presenting strategic action plans to customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to establish rapport, persuade an audience, and ensure understanding.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are considered an advantage.
