NOTICE POSITION OPENING BOOKKEEPER
The City of Camden is accepting applications for the Bookkeeper I position in the Finance Department.
The Bookkeeper I performs specialized, high-complexity clerical work, including maintaining clerical records. Bookkeeper I is under the general supervision of the City Treasurer and is responsible for work of considerable difficulty involving the application of basic bookkeeping skills and the maintenance of financial accounts and records, including general ledger accounts by fund and all revenue and expenditure accounts. Work also extends to preparing and processing source documents into computer processing operations.
This individual must thoroughly understand the accounting and computer processing system and be detail-oriented.
Work performed includes preparing reports, operating a computer, preparing requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment, and serving as a receptionist. The receptionist answers incoming calls and provides general information to the public.
The position requires high school graduation and experience in computer operations, bookkeeping, keyboarding, and other general office work. The starting pay range is $14.11-$15.83, depending on qualifications, and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
*Position may be filled at Bookkeeper II level if the applicant has qualifying experience.
