Welder – Trainee Gemini Group, Inc. – Welder (Trainee) Position requires no prior experience. Job Summary Weld metal parts with welding equipment as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks. Select torch, torch tip, and filler rod according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal. Connect regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders and welding torch. Turn regulator valves to activate flow gases, light torch, and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain a desired flame. Hold torch at proper angle to metal and guide along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld; examine weld for bead size and other specifications. Repair broken or cracked metal objects, fill holes, and build up metal parts. Post‑heats work piece in stress‑draw furnace; scarf or groove weld prior to applying filler metal. Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter; clean or degrease parts. Communicate with individuals associated with the production of each order assigned, including those outside your immediate work area when necessary. Perform and document specific inspection criteria; identify and communicate any suspect and/or non‑conforming product to the appropriate supervisor. Deliver conforming products to the next appropriate operation. Document the time spent (scans time) for each order on a daily time ticket for tracking and cost analysis. Perform housekeeping to ensure a safe and productive working atmosphere and other duties as specified by supervision. Education & Experience High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); no experience required.
