Veterinary Technician – Emergency Nurse

We are looking to add to our growing hospital and are in search of Veterinary Nurses ( Vet Techs ) with at least two years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine to work in our Emergency Department.

Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent.

The schedules we are hiring for are:

Wednesday through Saturday 10pm - 8am (*** ELIGIBLE FOR SIGN-ON BONUS ***);

Thursday through Saturday 8pm - 8am (*** ELIGIBLE FOR SIGN-ON BONUS ***)

*For those without two years of emergency experience, but with the education required and a passion to advance their skills, inquire about Metropolitan's Talent Management Program*

Your skills & experience and how you'll utilize them to help our patients :

• Experience in emergency veterinary medicine
• Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology, proper restraint/handling, venipuncture, laboratory testing)
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
• Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
• Ability to work in a fast paced, environment
• Proficient computer skills
• Triage – identify emergencies and illnesses
• Perform various treatments on an in-house and outpatient basis
• Anesthesia: Induction, monitoring, troubleshooting, recover patients
• Administer medications
• Assist in procedures
• Position and capture of radiographs
• Communicate with clients, and team members (verbally and written)
• Fear Free handling: safe, stress free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
