POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to field incoming calls from drivers and helpers, customer service, and others to gather, record, and / or report delivery time information and delivery status on selected accounts. This position will also coordinate and oversee all dispatch operations for delivery. Being bilingual with fluency in Spanish or French is preferred for this position.

Various Schedules available: (6am - 2pm), (2pm - 10pm) , (10pm - 6am) - Must work weekends and holidays

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scheduling route dispatch in a timely manner ensuring successful delivery.

• Gathering and recording delivery time information from route drivers.

• Actively involved in interviewing, selecting and training of new hires.

• Communicating with customer service on route driver locations as requested.

• Communicating with management and customer service regarding deliveries that will not be made within delivery windows.

• Communicate effectively with mechanics on vehicle condition reports and needed truck repairs to ensure safety protocols

• Communicating with management and seek timely resolution on truck breakdown situations.

• Completing delivery logs daily and disbursement to management.

• Working with purchasing department on all product pick-ups, and assigning drivers to complete pick-ups and return product and paperwork to receiving.

• Collecting all assets issued to drivers upon their return including keys, hand held, tickets, etc.

• Communicating with management on any driver/delivery issues that arise during the course of the day.

• Tracking of empty case returns to the facility on a daily basis

• Performing other duties as directed by management.

• Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.

• Knowledge of Routing System Software, Tracking Systems, Cold Chain Software and In- Cabin Camera devices preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma and 4-5 years dispatching experience, college education a plus.

• Ability to speak Spanish and / or French preferred.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle stressful situations effectively.

• Written and verbal communication skills and professional manner dealing with customers and employees.

• Working knowledge of NY, NJ and CT geography.

• Working knowledge of DOT compliance with driver hours of service, vehicle inspections, Drug/ Alcohol testing procedures.

• Basic knowledge of computer programs and functions including Windows, Microsoft Office.
