Position Overview
The Technical Agronomist will work directly with clients to deliver tailored agronomic solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency. This role blends hands-on fieldwork, data analysis, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide agronomic consulting services to farmers across Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, and Iowa.
• Develop herbicide recommendations and integrated pest management strategies.
• Conduct soil sampling and prepare fertility recommendations.
• Implement irrigation scheduling and monitor soil moisture sensor data.
• Evaluate and recommend hybrids and seed varieties based on performance data.
• Utilize agricultural software tools (SST, Proagrica, Sirrus, FieldX, Climate, etc.) for data management and analysis.
• Perform plant tissue sampling and evaluation to identify nutrient issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of agronomic trends, crop protection products, and precision agriculture technology.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in agronomy, precision agriculture, or farm consulting preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong understanding of crop production systems, soil science, and plant nutrition.
• Proficiency with precision agriculture tools and farm data management software.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of managing multiple clients/projects.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly.
