We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Tax Staff Accountant with specialized tax knowledge to join our team at Liptz, Roberts, Marquez, Merkle, Singh, and Zipor, chtd. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with tax laws, and efficient tax planning. Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for tax savings and mitigate risks.
• Assist in tax planning and strategy development to optimize our tax positions and minimize tax liabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information and ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns and filings.
• Review financial statements and transaction records to identify and resolve tax-related issues or discrepancies.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on our tax positions, advising management on potential risks and opportunities.
• Assist with tax audits and examinations, coordinating with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities as necessary.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls and processes to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, promoting their professional growth and development.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax department, with a focus on tax compliance and planning.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including experience with individual, partnership, and corporate taxation.
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem FX,) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Accounting CS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to specific situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain tax concepts to non-experts.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
