Job Summary/Basic Function The Recording Studio Technician at the Tell School of Music is responsible for managing the technical operations of the school's recording studios. This role involves setting up and maintaining equipment, recording and mixing audio for various music projects, and supporting faculty and students in their use of studio resources. The technician ensures high-quality sound production and maintains the overall functionality of studio spaces.
Required Qualifications Music be a music major
Must be available to work nights and weekends
Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints). Preferred Qualifications Job Duties •
Audio Recording and Mixing: Operate recording equipment during sessions, including concerts, student recitals, and faculty projects. Mix and master audio tracks to professional standards.

Equipment Setup and Maintenance: Set up and break down audio equipment for recording sessions. Regularly maintain and troubleshoot recording equipment, software, and hardware.

Technical Support: Provide guidance and assistance to students and faculty on the use of recording studio equipment and software. Train users on best practices for sound engineering and studio operation.

Project Management: Collaborate with students and faculty to schedule and coordinate recording projects. Ensure timely completion of audio projects and maintain organized records.

Quality Control: Monitor recordings for audio quality and consistency. Implement industry-standard practices to achieve optimal sound production.
•
Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of studio equipment and supplies. Recommend purchases or upgrades as needed to keep the studio current with industry standards.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all equipment and procedures comply with university safety regulations and best practices in audio engineering.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort - Be able to sit and use a computer for the length of shift
