Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is available near Tecumseh, MI, focused on supporting middle school students with mild to moderate special needs. This role requires a passionate educator with a Certification in Special Education for Michigan, along with a Cognitively Impaired (CI) or Autism endorsement. The contract runs from August 18, 2025, to June 12, 2026 (official dates to be confirmed), with an in-person schedule Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm, including an additional 10 minutes before and after the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to a caseload of 11 students in grades 4 through 8 with autism or cognitive impairments.
• Develop and implement tailored educational plans that meet state guidelines and address each student's unique learning needs.
• Collaborate closely with fellow educators, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive support for student success.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
• Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment that fosters academic and social growth.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Michigan Special Education Certification with CI or Autism endorsement.
• Proven experience teaching students with autism or cognitive impairments.
• Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to handle sensitive situations thoughtfully.
• Excellent munication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and parent engagement.

Work Environment and Schedule:

• Location: Middle school setting near Tecumseh, MI
• Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week, typically 7:45 am to 2:45 pm with slight flexible arrival and departure times.
