Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time contract position serves a K-12 school in Sterling Heights, MI, dedicated to supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special education needs. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and behavioral support for four elementary students with ASD, ensuring an inclusive and effective learning environment throughout the entire school year.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing individualized educational programs tailored to the specific needs of students with autism and other disabilities
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including special education teachers and behavior specialists, to develop and monitor behavior intervention plans
  • Providing direct instruction that supports academic, social, and munication skills development for elementary-aged students
  • Conducting ongoing assessments and adjusting strategies to promote positive student outes
  • Maintaining thorough documentation and adhering to all school and legal requirements related to special education services
