Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support high school students with mild to moderate disabilities in a learning center/resource classroom setting. This contract role provides leave coverage with a flexible start and end date, specifically suited for a licensed Special Education teacher who is passionate about making a difference at the high school level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional support to a caseload of approximately 30 high school students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Collaborate with paraeducators and other support staff to enhance student learning and classroom management.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with families and school personnel.
  • Adjust teaching strategies to provide inclusive and accessible learning experiences.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon Special Education license with endorsement for high school mild/moderate disabilities.
  • Experience working with high school students in a special education setting.
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching strategies for diverse learners.
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with school staff and support personnel.
  • Commitment to student advocacy and individualized learning.

Location:

  • Position is based at a single high school site in the Gresham, Oregon area.
