Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time, full school year contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and special education within a K-12 school environment located in Detroit, MI. This position focuses primarily on addressing four ASD teaching needs and supporting four elementary special education needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with autism and other special education needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including behavior specialists to support student development and classroom success.
  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral strategies to promote positive outes for students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
  • Facilitate a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets diverse student needs.
  • Maintain detailed records and municate effectively with parents and school staff.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Autism Specialist or Behavior Specialist working within school settings.
  • Certification or licensure in Special Education.
  • Strong knowledge of ASD instructional strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and support personnel.

  • Familiarity with K-12 educational frameworks and pliance requirements.
