Responsibilities:

• Curate and manage the wine selection for Maü Miami, ensuring an exceptional and diverse offering that complements the restaurant's culinary vision.
• Provide expert guidance and recommendations to guests on wine pairings, taking into account their preferences and the flavors of Maü's cuisine.
• Train and educate front-of-house staff on wine knowledge and service techniques to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Maintain wine inventory, monitor stock levels, and oversee cellar organization to ensure proper storage and rotation of wines.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to develop wine pairing menus for special events and tasting dinners.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new wine releases, and emerging wine regions to continually enhance Maü's wine program.
• Conduct wine tastings and seminars for staff and guests to promote wine appreciation and expand their knowledge.
• Handle wine procurement, negotiation with suppliers, and pricing strategies to optimize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
• Uphold Maü Miami's service standards by delivering attentive and personalized wine service to guests during dining experiences.
• Assist in maintaining overall beverage program excellence, including cocktails, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, as needed.

Qualifications:

• Certified Sommelier or higher certification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel environment.
• Deep knowledge of wines from around the world, including regions, grape varietals, production methods, and vintages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in wine service.
• Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
• Proficiency in wine cellar management software and Microsoft Office suite is an asset.
