The City of Peoria is excited to announce a unique opportunity to be part of a co-responder model that pairs mental health professionals with the Peoria Police Department. This innovative service aims to connect individuals and families to essential mental health resources, ensuring support goes beyond the initial crisis.

As a Mental Health Professional, you will:

• Actively listen to clients' presenting issues, using motivational interviewing and crisis intervention techniques to ensure safety and determine the best course of action.
• Exercise sound judgment and decision-making that prioritizes clinical safety and logic.
• Work collaboratively with law enforcement and emergency personnel during crisis situations.
• Provide follow-up case management and clinical oversight to staff members.
• Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients and their families while ensuring timely documentation.
• Monitor progress toward treatment goals and adjust care as needed.
• Deliver culturally sensitive counseling and support during life crises.

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Licenses/Certifications:
  • Proof of Auto Insurance
  • Driver's License from the Secretary of State (SOS)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work (Required)
• Experience: At least 1 year of related experience preferred
• Skills:
  • Ability to work with diverse age groups
  • Basic computer skills for documentation
  • Capability to drive in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in de-escalation techniques

The compensation range for this position is $26.34 - $43.99 per hour . This range reflects our commitment to fair compensation based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our team members.
