Position Overview

Herbert Roofing is seeking a dedicated and skilled Service Technician to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on residential and commercial roofs. This is a full-time, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality craftsmanship, values safety, and delivers excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Roof Inspections and Diagnostics

• Conduct comprehensive roof inspections to assess conditions and identify issues
• Provide customers with clear, honest, and accurate findings and solution recommendations

2. Roof Repair and Maintenance

• Repair roofing systems including shingles and flat roofs
• Perform maintenance tasks like flashing and esealing

3. Customer Service and Communication

• Explain repair scopes, timelines, and costs to customers clearly
• Maintain professionalism and a customer-first attitude

4. Safety Compliance

• Follow OSHA and company safety standards
• Use appropriate PPE and safety gear at all times

5. Material and Equipment Handling

• Load, transport, and use roofing materials and tools safely
• Keep workspaces clean, safe, and organized

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Complete work orders and service reports accurately
• Submit timely and detailed documentation

7. Emergency Roofing Services

• Respond promptly to urgent calls for storm damage or leaks
• Provide immediate and effective repairs to mitigate further damage

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of roofing experience (repair, installation, or maintenance)
• Knowledge of asphalt shingles, and flat roofing systems preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs
• Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and fall protection use
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Roofing-related certifications are a plus
• Proficiency with roofing tools and equipment
