Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Estimator to lead our bidding efforts. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for complex public and private sector projects, ensuring our continued growth in the heavy civil market.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Estimating Efforts: Independently manage and prepare complete cost estimates for large-scale bridge, roadway, earthwork, and utilities projects.
Quantity Take-Offs: Perform comprehensive quantity take-offs utilizing software like HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
Bid Package Development: Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotes, analyze bids, and summarize proposals for executive review.
Risk Analysis: Identify project risks and opportunities, providing value engineering and cost-saving recommendations.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Operations teams to develop project execution strategies.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of direct experience in heavy civil and highway construction estimating, specifically involving bridge structures, complex earthwork, and utility projects.
Expertise: Deep understanding of construction methods, material costs, and labor productivity rates unique to the Philadelphia/Mid-Atlantic market.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid, Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel), and project scheduling software.
Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant certifications are a significant plus.
