Lark Hotels is seeking a passionate and experienced Seasonal Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Block Island Beach House. BIBH is the Island's summer kitchen and oceanfront porch, offering beach BBQ, fresh fish, sandwiches, salads, local beers, wine, and cocktails...all overlooking the best sunset views on breathtaking Block Island. Are you a dynamic and energetic culinary professional capable of leading a team and providing our guests with an exceptional dining experience?

Our popular restaurant seeks a skilled sous chef who can create innovative menus and dishes, supervise all food leaving the kitchen, and ensure health and safety requirements are followed. Our ideal candidate is not only responsible for the food but is a creative leader capable of hiring and developing exceptional culinary talent to provide diners with the highest levels of quality. $1,400 - $1,600 per week

• Exceed guest expectations while increasing sales and profits and overseeing the success of day-to-day operations of the restaurant kitchen
• Work with vendors to secure the best items at cost-effective pricing, and manage department expenses that are within your direct control such as food, supplies, uniforms, and equipment
• Recruit, train, and lead all kitchen personnel while instilling a sense of teamwork through positive feedback, mentoring, and support
• Coordinate all kitchen food preparation, including processes, portioning, garnishing, and ensure that all meals and dishes are presented elegantly

• Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with guests and coworkers
• Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification such as a GED
• Understanding and compliance with kitchen sanitation, safety and equipment usage, and food storage
• At least 7-8 years of culinary experience
• This role requires experience building, motivating, and leading a team
