SAP Software Engineer (BODS) Description

We are looking for a skilled SAP Software Engineer (BODS) to design, develop, and optimize ETL processes using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS).

The ideal candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes while maintaining data integrity and performance. Additionally, the role includes ensuring knowledge transfer from the client team and building and maintaining a knowledge database for the new team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SAP BODS
• Work with SAP S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and external data sources to extract and load data efficiently
• Optimize data transformation and cleansing to ensure high-quality data
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand data integration requirements
• Ensure smooth knowledge transfer from the client team, documenting critical processes and solutions
• Build and maintain a knowledge database, keeping documentation accurate and up to date
• Troubleshoot and resolve ETL performance and data quality issues
• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance
• Support SAP upgrades and migrations, ensuring smooth ETL transitions
• Provide end-user training and support for data integration solutions

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in SAP BODS development and ETL processes
• Strong knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) best practices
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, and external data sources
• Understanding of SQL, stored procedures, and database performance tuning
• Ability to document and transfer knowledge effectively to ensure a smooth team transition
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot ETL performance issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP Data Intelligence and Cloud Integration
• Exposure to ABAP for data extraction and transformation
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
