SUMMARY:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you are the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. Interventional Radiology is a specialty which uses imaging (i.e., X-ray, CT, and Ultrasound) guidance to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. These procedures often replace conventional surgery. Some of the most common interventional radiology procedures include:

  • Uterine fibroid embolization - a minimally invasive fibroid treatment

  • Kyphoplasty (balloon kyphoplasty) for osteoporotic compression fractures of the spine

  • Catheter directed thrombolysis

  • Chemoembolization

  • Deep vein thrombosis

  • Radioembolization or selective internal radiation therapy

  • Microwave, RFA, cryoablation of tumors in the liver & kidney

STATUS: Full Time (36 hours per week)

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Interventional Radiology

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, Days, plus on-call which may include Evenings/Weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Patient Satisfaction. Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience

  • Medication Administration & Reporting. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal

  • Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process

EDUCATION:

AS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
