Summary/Overview:

KBRA (Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC) is seeking a Senior Director for its U.S. Public Finance Team. Based in New York , the ideal candidate will have deep background in municipal finance credit analysis. The Senior Director will lead and manage high profile rating engagements, author topical research, and represent KBRA at industry events. It is a unique opportunity to join a growing organization and an expanding, dynamic team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as lead analyst on a portfolio of high profile tax-exempt and revenue supported municipal credits.
  • Manage the end-to-end rating process, including leading management meetings with issuers.
  • Monitor and update ratings on existing transactions at least annually. More regular publication on certain credits will be expected.
  • Prepare credit memos based upon a comprehensive review and analysis of financial statements, legal documents, and other transaction information. Succinctly frame and present salient credit issues at rating committee.
  • Author rating reports, with minimal supervision, for new transactions and annual surveillance.
  • Author timely topical research reflecting KBRA's view of sector trends and current events.
  • Assist in the refinement, development and publication of rating methodologies.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
  • Ten (10) or more years of municipal credit experience at a rating agency, financial guarantor, institutional investor, investment or commercial bank, research firm or similar environment.
  • Experience analyzing tax-supported obligations, coupled with a familiarity of other public finance sectors. Ability and willingness to work across multiple sectors is a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. Writing samples will be requested.
  • Proficiency and comfort utilizing spreadsheet and other office software packages.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as partner with colleagues in a collaborative environment.
  • Highly effective time management skills, with an ability to prioritize among multiple deadlines and transactions in various stages of completion.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, with a high degree of self-motivation and professionalism.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field. Master's Degree is preferred.
Salary Range:

The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $180,000 to $210,000. Offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience, skills, geography, and other job-related factors.
