Join to apply for the Principal - Bridge Engineering role at Arup

We are looking for a market-facing Principal on the West coast to help our established bridge engineering offering continue to grow. Our teams work on design, assessment, and construction engineering. We work on pedestrian bridges like the Seaside Way Convention Center Performing Arts Center Pedestrian Bridge to larger modern cable-stayed bridge projects like the US 181 Harbor Bridge Replacement in Corpus Christi. This role can be based out of or near our Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Oakland office locations.

The Opportunity

  • Collaborate with other Arup leaders to develop your go-to-market strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with key agency and contractor clients as well as potential collaborators
  • Identify and position for major bridge opportunities in California and the Pacific Northwest
  • Bid and win bridge engineering work
  • Lead major bridge projects as a Project Director to deliver successful outcomes

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering or similar field of engineering study
  • 20 or more years of experience successfully delivering major bridge projects as a design manager, project manager or project director
  • Alternative project delivery experience (e.g. design build, PPP, PDB, CMGC)
  • Experience building client relationships and winning work
  • Professional Engineering License
