***APPLICANT MUST HAVE A VALID UNRESTRICTED INSURABLE DRIVERS LICENSE******RESUME AND REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED*** ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides comprehensive assessment of the lower extremity from the knee distal of persons with diabetes to identify individuals at high risk for lower extremity amputations.
- Provides diagnostic, preventive, surgical, and therapeutic podiatric services to patients in collaboration with Medical/Surgical staff and other foot care team members.
- Identifies patients with vascular compromise and refer the patients for vascular studies and vascular intervention to further reduce amputations.
- Works with podiatry services to develop and maintain a management system for the diabetic foot care program to include budget development, assessment requisition and inventory of supplies, equipment, shoes and educational materials.
- Develops and/or maintains charts forms and computer programs to record and monitor diabetes foot risk and foot care management.
- Develops and implements systems to e3valuate treatment and program effectiveness and implements continuous quality improvement programs and reviews for the foot care program.
- Collaborates with FDIHB multidisciplinary hospital teams in the Medical Surgical Unit (MSU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Medicine/Fast Track Services, Primary Care Clinic (PCC), Surgical Services, Orthopedic Clinic, Radiology Services, Pediatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Clinic, Laboratory Services, Medical Nutrition Therapy and Health Information Managment Department.
- Travels to and from Nahata' Dziil Health Center Podiatry Clinic to deliver podiatric patient care.
- Participates in on-calls schedule and rotation.
- Participates or serves on assigned committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS Experience:
- No additional experience required outside of a completed training program as identified in the education qualifications listed below.
Education:
- Completion of an accredited Podiatry Residency Program approved by the Council of Podiatric Medical Education.
- Board Eligible (BE) or Certification (BC) by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery or American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine.
License:
- Active, unrestricted Medical License in any U.S. State or Territory.
