Job Summary and Qualifications As a Pharmacist Intern, you may perform any duty of a pharmacist provided you are under the direct supervision of a pharmacist licensed by the board and approved as a preceptor by the board. As a Pharmacist-intern, you may not: Present or identify himself/herself as a pharmacist Sign or initial any document which is required to be signed or initialed by a pharmacist unless a preceptor cosigns the document. Supervise supportive personnel You will review and interpret physician medication orders ensuring appropriate therapy You will ensure that the compounding and dispensing of all medications is accurate and timely You will actively participate in the pharmaceutical care of the patient to promote a positive outcome You will perform pharmacy technician duties when not under the direct supervision of a pharmacist preceptor What qualifications you will need: Completion of all required College of Pharmacy credits prior to challenging national pharmacy board exams. The student must pass the national board exams within 1 year of graduation. Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Pharmacy Intern License with 90 days of onboarding Las Palmas Medical Center is a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso. It is home to the regions only kidney transplant center .
