This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or other science-related degree and a minimum of two plus years experience in technical sales and account management experience in the attainment of challenging sales goals; or a combination of education and work experience will also be considered.


Qualified applicants will possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater processes and equipment applications a plus
  • Pumping and control systems product knowledge is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Job responsibilities:

  • Sell products and solutions to customers within a defined established territory
  • Analyze customers’ requirements and engage in consultative selling with clients
  • Provide value-added services and products to solve customer problems
  • Provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries
  • Maintain great partner relationships with key manufacturers and vendors to achieve product quotas
  • Work with Cogent’s service division for layout review, interpretations, and quotation preparation
  • Work closely with the inside sales team to determine essential strategic approaches for sales at strategic customers
  • Complete, review, and communicate required internal sales documentation
  • Identifying target prospects and creating strategic action plans to turn prospects into customers
  • Balance both time on the road and in the office with some overnight travel
