Position: Optometrist
Description: The Optometrist provides vision evaluations and assesses visual acuity and overall eye health. Diagnoses and treats various eye conditions, diseases, and injuries. Prescribes corrective lenses or medications as needed and provides pre- and post-operative care for patients. Promotes healthy vision by counseling and educating patients. He/she adheres to the mission, vision and values of the Orange City Area Health System in all aspects of job performance. Number of Hours: Full time, Salaried. Schedule: Typically from 8am – 5pm, with some variance based on patient needs. Educational Requirements: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school. Valid IA state license to practice optometry. Must have excellent communication skills to effectively explain diagnoses and treatment plans to diverse patient populations, ranging from pediatrics to seniors, along with collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
