About the opportunity: Vail Health-Colorado Mountain Medical is seeking a board certified dermatologist to join our team in beautiful Avon, Colorado. The ideal candidate should have experience (at least fellowship training) in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery Provides comprehensive dermatologic services specializing in the precise removal of skin cancer tumors using the Mohs micrographic surgery technique and functions as an independent healthcare provider. What you will do: Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population. Perform Mohs micrographic surgery procedures to remove skin cancer tumors. Interpret histopathologic findings of tissue specimens obtained during surgery to assess tumor margins and ensure complete removal of cancerous cells. Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention. Monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate. May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards. As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. What you will need: Experience: Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or dermatopathology Fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery Medical doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. License(s): Federal DEA Certification: Medical Specialty License or Certification, Board Certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty Certification(s): N/A Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc. Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
