Overview

A loving couple with homes in West Virgina and Captiva, Florida are seeking a full-time live-in companion/caregiver to help them in their daily lives. The primary focus will be with the female principal who has progressing Alzheimer's. The role would be five days a week, with two days off. The male principal may need help with some medications or driving to appointments, but its less than the needs of the female. Flexibility will be needed. The candidate can live in all seven days or go home on their days off, if they live locally. The main residence is based out of West Virgina. This position is looking to hire immediately.

Responsibilities

• Daily care of principal with progressing Alzheimers 
• Must be comfortable with helping to change a colostomy bag (Can be shown if no prior experience)
• Handling bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and daily care activities
• Medication management
• Laundry
• Cooking for principal
• Grocery shopping
• Tidying up the house
• Taking to appointments, and physical therapy
• Creating mentally stimulating activities throughout the day
• Helping with basic housekeeping tasks that keep the home environment neat
• Companionship
• Meaningful activities and conversations
• Encouraging light exercise
• Transporting the client to social activities in the community or with family and friends.

Note on accommodations: In FL, a private room downstairs with a bathroom, shower, and kitchenette. In West Virginia, a guest house available for the caregiver on property inside the gate.

Requirements

• Must be legal to work in the US
• Clean and valid driver's license
• Prior Companion care experience
• Knowledge or prior experience with a colostomy bag is a huge plus!

Salary and Benefits

The client is offering a competitive salary of $115K+ depending on experience.
