Job Description

As an IP Patent Analyst, you will be part of the Intellectual Property Department supporting patent search and examination services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: IP Patent Analyst
Location: Hybrid in central Columbus, OH
Pay Range: $52-$54hr
Term: 12mo contract to hire
Candidates: US Citizens or GC Holders (not open to CtC or Visa)

What's the Job?

• Perform intellectual property patentability searches and write detailed examination opinions for patent office customers.
• Analyze relevant prior art and craft documented search and opinion reports that meet or exceed quality standards.
• Maintain proficiency in search and examination techniques through ongoing training and development.
• Ensure timely delivery of all project deliverables while upholding high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Serve as a trusted resource for clients regarding patentability assessments in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a related science field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience using both free and commercial patent databases.
• Proven expertise in patent search or examination, particularly within the chemical or pharmaceutical sectors.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver projects within deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on customer interaction and confidentiality.
