The Latin America Coverage Group within Jefferies Investment Banking delivers a full suite of advisory and capital markets capabilities to clients across diverse sectors in Latin America. Our team partners with leading corporations, financial sponsors, and institutional investors to execute complex transactions in a region experiencing dynamic economic growth and increasing global integration. We specialize in cross-border M&A, equity and debt capital markets, and strategic advisory services, leveraging Jefferies’ global platform to provide tailored solutions for clients operating in or expanding into Latin America.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Investment Banking Analyst/Associate to join our Latin America Coverage team in New York. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior bankers, including the Head of the LatAm Group and Managing Directors, on high-profile transactions across multiple industries such as Technology, Healthcare, and Industrials. The successful candidate will gain exposure to significant M&A, equity, and debt deal activity and will have the opportunity to develop into a calling officer, building long-term client relationships with private and public companies throughout the region.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of equity and debt financings, M&A, and restructuring/recapitalization transactions.
  • Perform detailed financial analyses, including valuation, discounted cash flow, pro forma merger, precedent transaction, and comparable company analyses.
  • Prepare client-facing materials such as pitch books, offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations, and prospectuses.
  • Conduct due diligence and analyze corporate and financial information to support transaction execution.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through active involvement in deal execution and strategic pitching.
  • Collaborate on mandates for Latin American clients where language skills and cultural understanding are critical.
  • Engage directly with senior executive management teams of client organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Native Spanish fluency.
  • Strong familiarity with the business and capital markets environment in Latin America.
  • Undergraduate degree with 1–3 years of investment banking experience.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and structuring for cross-border M&A transactions, as well as debt and equity capital markets offerings.
  • Ability to work effectively on multicultural and multilingual projects.
  • Currently based in New York or willing to relocate.
