Job Summary

The Inside Sales Representative in the Architectural Sales division sells commercial doors, frames, hardware, keying systems, access control, washroom accessories, alum storefront openings and other commercial items related to egress. Customers include general contractors, lumber yards, subcontractors, commercial builders and construction firms. This position does not require cold calling. The Inside Sales Representative receives inquiries through incoming phone calls, leads from outside sales staff and walk-ins.

This role acts as a liaison between customers and the internal sales team by providing product and service information, preparing accurate orders and quotes, and resolving issues with customer accounts. Customer service and support are the top priorities in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sell Lensing products and services to customers in the construction industry.
  • Communicate daily with customers and the internal sales team to coordinate orders and provide updates.
  • Learn and become proficient with Lensing's ERP system for order management.
  • Create and maintain customer accounts in the system.
  • Place and manage orders for customers, documenting all pertinent information accurately.
  • Provide complete, accurate, and timely quotations based on customer needs and company pricing.
  • Stay engaged with orders through timely follow-up to ensure successful completion.
  • Manage a high volume of customer calls and inquiries.
  • Identify and assess customer needs to achieve satisfaction.
  • Handle customer issues by finding resolutions or alternatives within required timeframes.
  • Follow up with customers to confirm order satisfaction or resolve concerns as necessary.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Team collaboration experience.
  • Ability to calculate percentages, sales prices, and discounts quickly and accurately.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Construction experience or prior customer service/sales experience preferred.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, construction, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of customer service, sales support, or inside sales experience.
  • Experience with construction products or building materials is a plus.
