The Hospitalist Physician at WellMed, part of Optum, provides comprehensive inpatient care to geriatric patients with Medicare Advantage in a collaborative, quality-focused environment. Position Highlights:

1. Be a part of a collaborative and comprehensive health care team
2. 100% of patients will have a WellMed primary care provider
3. Our model is designed to provide the most efficient, comprehensive, and proven care techniques to treat the whole patient – physically, mentally, and socially
4. “Quality vs. Quantity Model” – 5 to 7 admissions a night
5. Patient panel is limited to geriatrics with Medicare Advantage coverage
6. Bonus incentives are based on quality metrics

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.), or M.B.B.S.
• Board certification or eligibility in Family or Internal Medicine
• Active, unrestricted medical license in Texas
• Valid DEA license
• Ability to work 12 hours at night on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
• A working understanding and support of a managed care environment
