Teacher Responsibilities:

The History teacher shall prayerfully facilitate and guide students with the necessary skills to not only improve overall attitudes toward learning but also improve their knowledge on the subject matter which contributes to developing a mature and responsible Christian for the praise and glory of God.

The History teacher is to plan, organize, and implement appropriate biblical instruction in a secondary learning environment that encourages students to develop and attain their full academic potential, therefore, producing life-long learners.

Teacher Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Integrate Biblical principles, perspectives, and world view in all curricula
• Maintain a personal appearance according to the Riverdale Baptist Employee Handbook
• Ability to utilize computer programs to post grades and communicate with parents.
• Maintain professional communication with parents.
• Use effective written and oral communication
• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans that are in accordance with established procedures
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and quizzes in a timely manner
• Provide two weekly instructional grades per class
• Upload grades to the Renweb grade book
• Instruct and monitor students' usage of learning materials and equipment
• Provide feedback on assignments, behavior, etc. to inquiring Administration, parents, and students.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
• Provide differential learning materials and resources for student assignments
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with rules and disciplinary systems as stated in Riverdale Baptist High School handbook
• Monitor and reflect on the progress of individual students to adjust teaching strategies
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress, grades, and development
• Participate in department, school, and parent meetings

Basic Requirements:

• Be a born-again Christian who is called of God to the teaching ministry
• College graduate, preferably with two or more years of classroom teaching experience
• Knowledge of computer technology
• Willingness to pursue higher education and continue progress in career development
