An Applications Specialist job is currently available at Belcan in Blue Ash, OH. Great matching candidates will have familiarity with engineering software applications and have proven ability to learn and take ownership of business processes. You will be working with multiple teams from the Engineering teams and the Information Technology Services Group to deliver engineering software that solves business needs and exceeds customer expectations.
Job Duties:
Global Engineering Applications Specialist job duties:
- Manages the engineering software portfolio for Belcan US and International
- Develops an engineering software asset strategy that balances cost-effective use and procurement of assets with agile software delivery that meets business needs
- Responds quickly to end user requests for engineering software licenses or engineering software pricing
- Collects, analyzes, summarizes, and makes recommendation on the cost-effective use of all engineering software assets
- Proactively monitors engineering software license usage and takes quick action to increase or decrease software licenses or subscriptions as needed
- Prioritizes engineering software requests according to customer and business impact
- Build relationships with software vendors to establish best pricing structures and excellent vendor procurement and support services to better serve our engineering teams and customers
- Works closely and collaboratively with the ITSG Support and Service Delivery teams to quickly evaluate, procure, and install engineering software licenses and troubleshoot incidents related to licensing
- Works on a daily basis with engineering teams, procurement and financial teams, IT teams, and vendors and is responsible for leading meetings as needed to meet software needs of the business
- Proactively manages software renewals to avoid disruption
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to work on tasks and projects with little supervision
- Ability to manage multiple requests and projects simultaneously and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to build relationships and motivate cross-functional groups of people to complete a request in a timely manner
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to consistently meet deadlines
- Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills appropriate to a variety of audiences including technical teams, engineers, engineering managers, financial teams, executives, and vendors
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint and Teams
- Due to the nature of the work performed, US Citizenship is a requirement
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Familiarity with software licenses and User agreements
- Technical knowledge of engineering applications including but not limited to Siemens NX, Ansys, Matlab, Catia, Solidworks, PTC, FEMAP, MSC, and MentorGraphics
- Vendor management
- Corporate purchasing
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $52,000 to $62,400. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
