Job Title: General Manager

Location: Preston CDJR of Dover, Dover, DE

Job Summary: The General Manager will oversee all operations of the dealership, ensuring exceptional customer service, maximizing profitability, and driving sales growth. This role requires a strategic leader with strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep understanding of the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Revenue Generation:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve dealership targets.
    • Monitor sales performance and adjust tactics as necessary to meet goals.

2. Operations Management:

  • Oversee daily operations, including sales, service, parts, and finance departments.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
3. Financial Oversight:
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to maximize profitability.
  • Analyze financial data and implement cost-control measures.
4. Staff Leadership and Development:
  • Recruit, train, and mentor department managers and staff.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
5. Customer Relationship Management:
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction and resolve escalated issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
6. Marketing and Community Engagement:
  • Develop marketing initiatives to attract and retain customers.
  • Engage with the local community and represent the dealership at events.
7. Performance Analysis:
  • Review performance metrics regularly to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Utilize data to make informed decisions and implement best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Automotive Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive sales or management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and make data-driven decisions.
