Our firm is seeking an experienced SIU Fraud Investigator to join our New Jersey Office. This role offers a motivated and ambitious investigator the opportunity to lead a robust fraud investigative unit. This person will also have the unique opportunity to help grow our firm’s footprint. The role is focused on the following states NJ, NY, and FLA.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes, monitors and conveys highly technical information into actionable investigative strategies including the identification of complex case investigations.
  • Conducts insurance investigations to determine and identify fraudulent claims.
  • Use and maintains the Firm’s proprietary fraud database with a focus on uncovering and identifying all potentially fraudulent aspects of a claim.
  • Apply the techniques of critical thinking to deconstruct complex problems and reasoning through to its logical conclusion.
  • Adheres to Local, State and Federal statutes to ensure investigations are carried out lawfully.
  • Excels responsive communication with all internal and external partners and provides the highest customer service.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on fraud.
  • Applies rules of evidence; recognizes evidence and determines its value to specific claim, evidence collection and interpretation.
  • Knowledgeable of rules of evidence and applies same to determine value of it as it relates to claims.
  • Proactively collaborates with attorneys, paralegals, and clients.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SIU and insurance fraud investigations.
  • Understanding of New York specific fraud and recent developments in New York RICO lawsuit and cases.
  • Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills as well as essential investigative techniques and processes.
  • Highly responsive.
  • Ability to communicate professionally – both in writing and verbally.
  • Computer literate.
  • Must be motivated and take initiative.
  • Excels working as an individual and part of a team.
  • Working level knowledge of insurance and claim operations – specifically bodily injury claims.
  • Time management and accurate record keeping – Intermediate.
  • Highly skilled at case management and claims best practices.
  • Adapt to changes in process and shifting priorities.
