The Senior Epic Application Analyst leads the configuration, upgrade, and support of Epic Beaker and EpicCare Link systems to improve clinical workflows and system performance. They collaborate with stakeholders, troubleshoot issues, and mentor junior analysts while ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance standards. This role requires strong problem-solving, communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams in a healthcare environment.

Position Overview

As a Senior Epic Application Analyst, you will work on business systems design and configuration, upgrades, and improvements for assigned technology platforms. As a primary support contact for application end-users, the Senior Epic Application Analyst will work to identify issues that arise in the application area, as well as issues that impact other application teams and work to resolve them. The Senior Application Analyst will perform impact analysis of desired changes, build and test systems changes, and identify areas of improvement associated with platform performance and opportunities to enable business processes and requirements. The Senior Application Analyst will act as a mentor to more junior analysts on the team, support questions and may delegate activities to other analysts.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead the estimation of enhancement or support requests.
  • •Guide workflow design, configure and test system changes, and analyze technical issues.
  • Liaise with business systems stakeholders and software vendor’s implementation staff, ensuring alignment of business needs with delivery of systems changes.
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows; proactively identify opportunities to improve business workflow with technology improvements.
  • Participate in training and work with end users.
  • Troubleshoot problems and questions.
  • Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems.
  • Review the status of projects and issues with project leadership.
  • Assign or delegate configuration or other activities to Application Analysts or Managed Services team members
  • Act as delegate for Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution.
  • Provide mentorship for other peers and leadership to solve problems, even if it's outside of their normal responsibilities/scope.
  • Be a leader on internal process design and documentation to drive continuous improvement for the IT department or team.
  • Ability to work within normal business hours, as well as on-call, with potential for nights and weekends.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of working time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 12 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions, either in an application analyst or project delivery role.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply industry best practices. 
  • Strong computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience configuring business systems software in a life science, health care, or related industry.
  • Certification in Epic Beaker

Salary Range:

$89,000.00 - $151,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
